Description:
Nowadays, you can't throw a stone without hitting a typical run-of-the-mill bar cover band. Most of them mirror each other so much that they end up as background music for groups of bar-goers reflecting on a hellish workweek. Luckily for Northern Michigan, there is hope - and it's called Anthology. (The definition of anthology is: a collection of works from other sources). This group, which consists of former members of the Bently Filmore Band, has been treating local crowds to what it knows best - playing rock and roll and kicking back a few beers with friends. While many cover bands play the same old selection of hits like "old time rock 'n' roll" by Seger or Mustang Sally, Anthology puts that all aside and plays a selection of recognizable tunes not often heard. But that doesn't mean they won't take requests between their solid set of songs by bands including Zeppelin, Sabbath, VanMorrison or Neil Young. "We play requests if we know them," said the band members. "The band covers songs that most bar bands won't even touch, and they do it well," said Len McNeil. And they throw in a few originals for good measure.

Band Members:
Bob Flaskas flawless lead guitar solos are reminiscent of the late 60s to present day rock. He has studied icons such as Hendrix, VanHalen, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. He is a classic player that gets the job done. Scott Cassiday presents authoritative and melodic vocals, steadfast rhythm guitar and soulful blues harmonica. He has been kicking around with different bands since the mid 70s. He has also done many venues solo acoustic. Ron Julian knows the game well, keeping beat to a diversity of different music. Covering blues, rock and roll and country with local area bands such as Hobbs Highway and Blue Rock Crossing, as well as numerous bands down state. While Tom Halls resume is equally impressive, having played his smooth as molasses bass since the late 60s, following a large venue of rock and roll biased on local Michigan talent such as Grand Funk Railroad, SRC, MC5 and The Frost. When it comes to pure musicianship, make no mistake about it, these guys are seasoned veterans and it's not hard to tell these guys aren't messing around when it comes to having fun. Individually they are all outstanding musicians at their own craft - together, they just plain kick ass.
